Driver

Job Summary:
Drivers at Waste Management are responsible for safely operating vehicles to collect and transport waste and recyclables from residential, commercial, and industrial sites to disposal sites, recycling plants, or other designated locations. This role is crucial in maintaining community cleanliness and ensuring environmental compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate waste collection vehicles, adhering to all operational, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and associated equipment.
- Navigate assigned routes to collect waste and recyclable materials from customers.
- Work with customers to resolve collection issues, answer questions and provide service information.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Record and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Proven work experience as a truck driver or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of truck driving rules and regulations.
- Good physical condition and strength to perform strenuous physical tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
